Very common. Very natural.
Stretch marks are a normal part of puberty for most girls and boys. When you grow or gain weight really quickly (like during puberty), you may get fine lines on your body. That’s all that stretch marks are.
If you're noticing stretch marks on your body, you're not alone. Most girls and women have them, usually on their breasts, thighs, hips, and butt. Many women also get them during pregnancy.
Stretch marks aren’t as big of a deal as some people make them out to be. They are a natural part of growing up and are common for many people. Remember, there’s no such thing as the perfect body and no two bodies are the same.
Real beauty comes from the inside, so don’t get too stressed about what’s going on on the outside. In order to grow, your body has to change and adjust. Imagine being 30 and stuck in a 10 year old’s body? Yikes!
Puberty is an adventure. We all have our challenges, so see your stretch marks as champion strikes for every battle you’ve won and survived. Doesn’t sound bad, right?
Stretch marks tend to become less visible as you get older, but there are a couple of things you can do to manage them as you navigate puberty.
Use natural body creams like cocoa and shea butter that are rich in vitamin E. they make your skin more elastic and reduce tension from growth.
Drink loads of water and stay hydrated. It will make your skin less likely to stretch.
Exercise regularly and eat healthily. That way you can control your weight gain. Regular stretching also makes your skin more toned and reduces the visibility of stretch marks.
Remember; try not to let your outward appearance affect how you feel inside. There is more to you than how you look, so focus on the important things!
