How to make the best use of your mentor's advice

Find out how to be the best you possible

A mentor is someone who shares their knowledge and experience with you, the mentee.

They do this because their purpose is to help you achieve your goals and be a success. So, it's always in your best interest to take your mentor's advice seriously.

But sometimes you won’t know how to apply their advice.

To help you out we've put together these 3 useful ways to start practising what your mentor is preaching.

1. Take responsibility
A good mentor will give you tasks to do. These tasks can range from anything between writing a business plan to studying for 3 hours every day.

To get the best out of such tasks, you'll have to take responsibility for them by ensuring that you give your best effort.

Doing this will help you learn more about your business or help develop your personality.

2. Be willing to learn and make mistakes
You'll only get the best results from your mentor if you're open to learning because the truth is your mentor has great advice you can follow. They've been there and got the success.

Your mentor won't expect you to be perfect. Most successful people know that many mistakes will be made on the path to greatness. So be confident when learning and taking on your responsibilities instead of worrying about making mistakes. When you do make a mistake, don't beat yourself up about it, remember what didn’t work and then use it as a learning curve to rise up and do better next time.

3. Start applying their advice ASAP
Procrastination delays success; as soon as your mentor has given you a task, ditch the fear and anxiety, believe in yourself and let your amazing talents guide you to success.

If you want to be successful it's important to focus on your positive emotions instead of your negative emotions.

Positive emotions include feelings of joy, excitement, belief, gratitude, interest and inspiration. If you pick out the right mentor, they should be able to support you in harnessing these feelings!

A great mentor will take pride and enjoy working with you to help you become the best version of yourself. That's something that you want, right?

A mentor can bring so much to your life, once you've found the right one you will see the difference. Now go out and find your perfect mentor!
